Being digitally savvy is becoming an essential part of many job descriptions today, but who knows what careers will exist in tomorrow’s tech accelerated world? From music, fashion, retail, programming, manufacturing or even finance, every workplace stands to be transformed.

By working with some of the world’s leading employers and speakers, our new campaign Predict ’21 will inform and inspire young people to explore the many opportunities that lie ahead in the digital and technology-enabled space.

Join us this June as we look at all manner of future careers – from the obvious contenders to new roles none of us would ever have dreamt of! Predict ’21 will help young people to navigate a world of new career possibilities and signpost them towards appropriate training and recruitment pathways.

“We are delighted to be a part of Predict ’21 to equip today's young people with the digital literacy and critical thinking skills that our future economy will so desperately need. Whilst we adapt to COVID-safe working, we must not sacrifice young people’s access to career experiences. We are excited about growing the potential of young people with Speakers for Schools.”

Gemma Crothers, Social Responsibility Manager at Kainos

To help this campaign to reach as many young people as possible, we will be hosting opportunities throughout June and July 2021, including:

Hear from the experts how technology is re-shaping the world of work

Young people across the UK are invited to access live and recorded broadcasts from influential global figures from the hi-tech industries as well as organisations that are leading the charge for early technology adoption. Individual schools can also apply to host a talk for students at their school.

Get involved by offering or taking part in Virtual Work Experience

We will be offering thousands of online 3-5 day placements as well as Virtual Insight Days for young people aged 14-19 with employers from a wide range of sectors to highlight the many technology-related career opportunities available now and in the future.

Upskill the next generation by offering technology-related training

We can also provide a highly accessible platform for universities, colleges and apprenticeship providers to reach young people to signpost technology-related pathways and courses.

Please contact us, if you would like to offer an opportunity as part of Predict ’21.

Predict ’21 is hosted and run by Speakers for Schools as part of our commitment to connect young people from all backgrounds across the UK to level up into new industries and future proof the next generation in a post-COVID economy.

Speakers for Schools was founded in 2010 by ITV’s Political Editor Robert Peston, and supported by the Law Family Charitable Foundation, with a mission to level the playing field for young people. It aims to end educational inequality by giving access to the same networks as the top fee-paying schools in the UK through inspirational talks and broadcasts, work placements, meaningful discounts and life-preparing opportunities.
